Open Water Module 4  (OWM 4)

Award : SLSS International Inland Open Water Lifeguard (IIOWL)

Aim : This Module develops acceptable standards of knowledge, judgment, skills and physical abilities required of a lifeguard supervising people at a non-surf open water environment.

Pre-requisite : The candidate must possess:
a. A Bronze Medallion Award (except those re-taking the International Inland – Open Water Lifeguard Award) and knowledge of the patrol area where the test is being taken.
b. SLSS Oxygen Resuscitation Award or other similar award which has been accepted by the Society.

Minimum Age : 15 years old.
Class Size : 4 – 8 participants.
Duration : 6 sessions of 2 hours each.
Course Fee : $450 per participant.

A. Skills covered in Standard and Oxygen Resuscitation Modules.
B. Knowledge of aquatic environment and facilities where training is conducted.
C. Fast response pool rescues.
D. Fitness & rescue fitness in open-water condition.
E. Care for spinal injury.
F. Further emergency situations.
G. Further Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation.
H. Mechanical resuscitation equipment.
I. Open-water emergency procedures.
